Qwickly Course Tools: Enhanced Instructor Experience

Qwickly Course Tools: Enhanced Instructor Experience

July 23, 2022

The revamped visual & organizational update to Qwickly Course Tools will be rolled-out on December 14, 2022 for all users. The ability to preview this new look, in test or production environments, begins on August 3rd with an option to switch it on in administrator settings. All users will be migrated to the new look starting December 14, with the new look being implemented for all users by December 15, 2022.

How can you get the new experience?

Log into your instance, and select Manage Course Tools.  Under preferences, you can enable the new look. Remember that you can have Qwickly Course Tools installed on your test systems as a separate instance so previewing the new experience doesn't cause confusion for your users. Click here to view one of our Product Educators demonstrate how to set up this new experience.

View this revamp of Qwickly Course Tools in the recorded session from Qwickly Seminar 2022. (This recorded session refers to a June 29th release date, which is incorrect.  The official release date is December 14th with the option to preview beginning August 3rd).

After identifying some of the pain points instructors have experienced using Qwickly Course Tools, we made the toolset even more user friendly than before! With Qwickly Course Tools, instructors can simplify the management of multiple courses, improve communication, and streamline repetitive tasks to keep the focus on teaching. The goal of these new features is to make communicating with students even easier on the instructors. There are screenshots below that show the updates that have been made to the left hand navigation, making it more accessible for users. To see more side-by-side screenshots of the updates that have been made to Qwickly Course Tools, make sure to check out our document on Qwickly Course Tools updates.

We have added a progress bar at the top of the screen to indicate to the instructor which step they are on and how many more steps they have to go. The new format is meant to keep things organized as we add more and more features to specific tools.

The Manage Groups Tool is also making its debut allowing users to create a new group set in one or more courses. Users have the ability to import an existing group set to one or more courses. At this time, the Manage Groups Tool is available for Blackboard users only, with Canvas and D2L to come later this year.
