This year brings new challenges to instructors and administrators around the world, as institutions determine how to best move forward in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Qwickly’s tools can be used in a number of applications to help assist instructors and administrators during this time.
Designed specifically to comply with Federal Aid Guidelines, Online Activity Mode, a feature of the Qwicky Attendance Product Family, allows instructors to automatically derive attendance statuses for students based on academic activity within the learning management system course.
When using Online Activity Mode, an instructor selects the relevant activities that students should have completed during a given period of time. Online Activity will then automatically check to see if students have completed the assigned activities and will record attendance, based on the completion of assignments (along with notes about the activity of the student), in the Qwickly Attendance record.
Qwickly Attendance Classic has many additional features, such as check-in mode and custom statuses, that can assist in the transition to virtual and hybrid classes. Easily track virtual vs. in-person attendance with the ability to create custom statuses that fit your institution’s needs, such as virtual present vs. in-person present. Complete a check for virtual attendance and engagement in a class by randomly starting a check-in mode session with a required pin. Students will then be required to check in using a unique pin in a specific period of time, as set by the instructor. This allows the instructor to see which students are consistently attending and participating in class, even if they are attending virtually.
The reporting features of Qwickly Attendance Pro can also assist instructors and administrators as they navigate through the coming year. Users can run different types of reports to help track students in a variety of ways. For example, if a student who is attending classes in-person tests positive for COVID-19, administrators can run a report to see which courses that student had been attending. Additionally, instructors can run attendance reports on students who are attending virtually to ensure they are remaining engaged and connected with their studies, and to determine where early-intervention strategies may be needed.
The Student Groups feature of Qwickly Attendance Pro allows users to create any number of student groups which can assist in streamlining reporting. For example, users can create a separate Student Groups for students who are attending online, attending in-person, staying on-campus in residence halls, etc.
Qwickly Course Tools makes it easy for instructors to post content and communicate with students in online and in-person courses. Qwickly Course Tools gives instructors the ability to post announcements, distribute content, and send emails, across multiple courses in a single hub, saving time and frustration.
